Privacy policy

The short version

In V1, Huesona has no database and no accounts. We don't save your answers, store your result, or build a profile under your name — there is nothing for us to look up later. Your result is carried inside the share link itself.

Your answers and result

While you take the quiz, your answers stay in your browser. When you finish, your trait pattern is encoded into the result link itself — not saved in any database. Anyone you send the link to recreates the same result from the link.

Opening a result link (or generating its social preview image) does send that encoded pattern to our server so it can render the page, and — like a request to any website — it may appear briefly in standard server logs. We don't store it in a database, attach it to your identity, or keep it after the request. If you close the tab without sharing your link, there is no saved record of your result.

No accounts, no logins

There are no accounts and no logins in V1. You do not create a profile, set a password, or hand over an identity to use the quiz.

Email (optional, opt-in only)

Giving us your email is entirely optional. The quiz and your full result are free and complete without it — email is never a wall over any part of your result. If you choose to opt in on the result page, here is exactly what happens:

• We use your email only to send you a link back to your character sheet and a short, optional series of prompts and lenses based on your result. We do not send unrelated marketing.
• We use double opt-in: after you submit, our email provider sends a confirmation message, and you are added to the list only if you click to confirm. If you never confirm, your address is not kept.
• Your email is handled by a third-party email provider (Kit, formerly ConvertKit) acting as our processor, so that we can deliver these messages. It is subject to their privacy terms as well as ours.
• We never sell or rent your email address, and we never see or store your individual quiz answers.
• So the emails can be about yourbuild, opting in from your result page attaches your result to your subscription — your class, element, and links back to your result pages. That personalization is the only thing it's used for, and unsubscribing removes it along with your address.
• You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email; that removes you from the list.

Email capture isn't switched on yet. This section describes exactly how it will work when it is.

Analytics and tracking

We use Vercel Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly, cookieless measurement tool. It records aggregate page views and a few anonymous product events (for example, that a quiz was started or completed) so we can see what's working — with no cookies, no cross-site tracking, no advertising profiles, and nothing that identifies you personally. Your quiz answers and your result are never sent to it. We do not run advertising trackers or behavioral profiling.
